Although I write on a variety of topics as a content marketer, food blogging remains my first love. The content marketing world was abuzz with the concept of infotainment a couple of years ago. And today, India is ready for some foodtainment.
One of my goals while starting this blog was to change perceptions about cooking from ‘chore to cherish’. And I think the urban world is finally coming around. Cooking your meal is no longer considered a lowly task. It is hip to try out different cuisines, and entertain with them. Serving a paneer tikka for your dinner party may not be enough to wow your guests anymore.
Yuppies and DINKs are eagerly shopping for gourmet ingredients, putting on aprons and experimenting with everything from a Spanish gazpacho to Thai food. They are hungry for authentic regional Indian recipes that will be ready in less time and effort. So yes, the time is ripe for a platform that will provide quality programs on food and lifestyle.
Living Foodz is a foodie’s dream, a wonderland where food is fun and chefs are the heroes.
I wonder if you remember, but the first post on KamalKitchen.com back in 2008 was turmeric pickle. For many years, it was the first search result in Google. Pickles are such an integral part of our tradition, and they remind me of rituals long forgotten, and people long passed.
Pickling Amla in Fall, cauliflower and carrots in winter, lemons in the New Year, and mangoes in summer – then lovingly stirring them every few months to make sure they don’t go bad – there is so much nostalgia when I think of pickles. Every family has their own story and memories revolving around them. So I was doing a happy dance when I heard about Chef Kunal Kapur’s new show on exotic pickles from the length and breadth of India. Pickle Nation has moved to the top of my ‘must watch’ list.
The Great Indian Rasoi is another of my favorite shows and I never get tired of watching reruns. Chef Ranveer Brar returns with a new season of this show. I am excited because I am sure it is going to be better and shinier, literally. Actually, I am ready to drool over the food from some new cities.
The exuberant Vicky Ratnani has traversed the world, literally. And he takes us on a culinary journey to some new country in almost every episode.
And the chic, sweet Chef Rakhee! You might know her as @palateculinary on Twitter. She is a Cordon Bleu chef and she brings another show that I am very very eager to watch.
Are you a foodie? Silly question! If you are reading my blog, you almost certainly love good food. Get ready to have fun with your food, learn from some talented and experienced chefs and be up to date on what is ‘haute’ in the world of food.
Living Foodz brings you the best in foodtainment. Get your food on, people.
