The monsoon is here!! Yay! Every year, as we sweat through summer, we pray for rains and anxiously watch out for the monsoons. There is endless discussion on how the crops need timely rain – very critical for a country like India where agriculture is so prominent – and how our tired and weary bodies will prefer cooler temperatures.
Well, this year, the Gods seem to have smiled on us and the monsoons have arrived. They are making the usual splash in Mumbai in the form of water logging. But we are still happy the rains are here.
As our regular readers know, a lot has been happening here at kamalkitchen.com too. We are celebrating #30daysofdaal and blogging about a new daal recipe every day. It has turned out to be a great way to add some essential protein to my vegetarian diet. I am revisiting family recipes that are fading away with time. Most of all, I am having fun. Monsoon means Bhutta
What does monsoon mean to you? For me, it will always have sweet memories of the school year starting, shopping for school uniforms and raincoats, rainy shoes and school bags. And eating bhutta while shivering in the drizzling rain.
