When Hunger Strikes

March 20, 2015 by Pragati Bidkar

Food bloggers have a heavy mantle to uphold. I am thinking of recipes as I live and breathe. Many times, I watch something on TV and think of what ingredients would pair well with a particular thing. Just yesterday, watching Vikas Khanna make a sauce from green mango pulp sparked a few ideas. Although I like most of the recipes I come up with, not all of them are suitable for blogging. Some are not very attractive to look at even if they are yummy tasting. Some take just too much effort or are hard to explain to a global audience.

Cooking all the time can tire one out. It does tire me out. Most of all, I get bored eating what I cook myself. Yes, even if it is something new all the time. And I get exhausted too. Sometimes I want to take it easy and spend time chatting with friends rather than just stand over a stove. The same goes for movie night. How can I enjoy a movie if I am stirring a pot or chopping up vegetables? I want to lean back, put my feet up, gorge on popcorn and tons of food.

So, when hunger strikes, believe it or not, there are times when I just want to dial a number and order some food. Now I have many favorite restaurants in Pune, but when it comes to ordering food at home, home delivery restaurants in Pune come to the rescue. I prefer that they are close to where I live, at the most in a 3-4 KM radius. I have ordered food from some far off places before, but it doesn’t stay or travel well, considering the pot holes on the roads. So even if a far off restaurant offers food delivery, I prefer to stick to my area.

Pune is a foodie paradise and one good thing is that new restaurants crop up all the time. I like to search for the latest ones online every time I want to order food. Online search is my trusted source for finding out a takeaway restaurant nearby. So whether I am craving Chinese, Thai or Punjabi food, I am assured of finding some good options in my area.

Food Bloggers take a break from the kitchen too. And when hunger strikes, home delivery comes to the rescue.
