Watch Me #CreateFearlessly with Hamilton Beach

February 23, 2015 by Pragati Bidkar

Hamilton Beach and #CreateFearlessly are burning the airwaves. You may have noticed this on Twitter and Facebook. The #CreateFearlessly hashtag relates to a campaign sponsored by Hamilton Beach India. I have long been a user and fan of Hamilton Beach while I lived in the US. So I was very excited when I learned that they are launching their products in India.

Tropical Smoothie

There was an open call where bloggers could apply for any of the six products that were part of this campaign. Being a dedicated award winning food blog, I was really hoping that kamalkitchen.com would be selected. And it was!

Now a little about the awesome products that were up for grabs. Actually, each and every product made me drool, and I would love to have them on my kitchen shelves. But I had to choose only one which was a very difficult choice indeed.

The Party Planner is undoubtedly the big boy here! A countertop oven with convection and rotisserie, big enough to fit two 12 inch pizzas!! Now that is something. It means it could fit a lot of my Pyrex bakeware that is gathering dust in my Indian kitchen. The Party Planner also came with a hand blender so you could whip up that cake batter easily.

The Grilled Food Lover offered a great panini maker sort of like a George Foreman grill. Really useful to make loaded paninis, grill meats, tofu, veggies etc.

The Sweet Toothed Baker offered a roll top oven with a hand mixer, once again a very handy tool for bakers.

The Solo Coffee Lover came with a single cup coffee maker and a coffee grinder. This is great for coffee fanatics who like to grind their coffee beans fresh before brewing their cup of joe.

The Coffee Maestro is truly revolutionary. It will make a barista out of you. It has that fancy handle that will create steam and will hiss and puff and let you make cappuccinos or foamy drinks.

And then the Master Mixer – a blender with a chopper jar. Something for all your blending needs.

I was spoiled for choice and the decision was tough. Here is how I decided –

1) Eliminate what you already have

This eliminated the oven/grill, panini maker and hand mixer.

2) Eliminate something you will hardly ever use

The coffee grinder, solo coffee maker and coffee maestro were very attractive. But one coffee maker is already gathering dust on the counter top. I love my coffee, but I limit it to special occasions.

3) Make a Smart Choice

This was the first time I was applying for a blogger giveaway. I didn’t want to ask for the biggest, shiniest, most expensive object because I wasn’t sure if I could do justice to the expectations.

That left the blender. I sorely need a dedicated smoothie blender, and also a chopper or something with a S blade because my food processor broke.

So the choice was clear! The Multiblend Blender it was. And I was really happy when I was selected.

The wait

A few days passed and there was an agonizing wait. I was told the product would be shipped and I was cooking up recipes in my mind. Then the doorbell rang one afternoon, and my blender was home.

Salsa

The blender was packed really well. Each part was individually wrapped. I am going to show you two recipes using the blender – my tropical smoothie which I have already blogged about. And salsa, everyone’s favorite! I will write a separate post for the salsa recipe, and you can see me using the Hamilton Beach blender in this video.

What I love about the Hamilton Beach blender

I have used many different brands of blenders over the years, and this is what I love about my Hamilton Beach blender.

1) Posh black and chrome finish

2) Lightweight Tritan jar

3) Stir stick – makes it really easy to move any stuff that has stuck to the sides while the mixer is on. There is no need to stop and scrape the sides.

4) Chopper with S blade – Uses the same base unit which saves me space of an additional appliance. The S blade is great for chopping and crushing and making things like pestos, salsas, dressings etc.

5) Mess Free Spout – I am not good at pouring. I spill tea or coffee everyday, and definitely spill stuff while pouring from the blender. The handy spout on top of the blender jar makes it easy to pour without spilling.

Check out my video of unboxing and using my Hamilton Beach Blender.

Don’t forget to check out the hashtag #CreateFearlessly to see what other top Indian bloggers are creating with their Hamilton Beach products.

What’s the next thing you want me to #CreateFearlessly with my Hamilton Beach blender?

This post is part of the #CreateFearlessly activity in association with Hamilton Beach India and BlogAdda.
